UUM WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS INTO ITS LARGE FAMILY

MSKUUM ONLINE: "Welcome to UUM," announced Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) who is performing the duties of Vice- Chancellor, recently to all new students during the launch of the 2021/2022 academic session Orientation Week which was held virtually through UUM official Facebook page.

He stated that the day was significant for everyone since UUM opened its doors to welcome new students as new members of the UUM family.

“On behalf of UUM, I would like to congratulate the students who have been chosen from among the tens of thousands of Malaysian adolescents who aspire to study at UUM.

"UUM is the only public university in Malaysia that focuses on management, and this university has successfully produced many figures and icons in various sectors, including the corporate sector, government, and business, with the most recent UUM graduates totalling 146,809 people since its first convocation in 1988," he said.

According to Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman, the fundamental goal of UUM was to produce students who would not only perform academically, but also to produce students who would be future leaders with a holistic character to serve global society.

According to him, after 37 years of its inception, UUM had always taken initiatives and was committed to continuing to enhance its international ranking position year after year.

In this regard, he urged all students to take advantage of all available opportunities to improve their abilities, develop their personalities, and give back to the community, in keeping with UUM's motto, 'Knowledge, Virtue, Service'.

“Imagine yourself as a sampan, going downstream and at the same time able to travel upstream.

"Don't be the dry leaves or debris floating aimlessly in the river; there is still no way to determine the true destination," he warned.

"Let us work as a team to accomplish the country's higher education objectives and propel UUM to become the Eminent Management University that is highly regarded and respected at the national and international levels," he added.

He also informed attendees of the number of new student admissions and the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of students admitted to UUM during the welcoming session at the launch of the Orientation Week.

Orientation, which began yesterday and will last for three days, is the university's main activity that is implemented every year to welcome new students.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Joint Slot (Academic and International), Deputy Vice-Chancellor Joint Slot (Student and Alumni Affairs), School Joint Slot, New Student Pledge Ceremony, and other related sessions were among the main slots in store during orientation.
