UUM TALKS: A PLATFORM FOR INDUSTRIAL PLAYERS TO SHARE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

uum talksUUM ONLINE: Mr. Nizam Mohamed Nadzri, Chief Executive Officer, Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad (MDV), shared his industry experience and expertise at the UUM Talks Strategic Matters-Leading A Corporate Transformation: The Journey of Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad programme, held last Monday at the Postgraduate Studio Unit, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), College of Business (COB).

During the session, he discussed MDV's planned development and transformation from 2018 to 2025.

According to him, MDV was founded in 2002 with the goal of providing flexible and innovative Islamic loan and financing facilities to develop high-impact economic sectors driven by technology and prioritised by the government as the engine of future growth.

“MDV grows in tandem with the country's development. Among its facilities are ICT, biotechnology, and green technology, which support the national technology agenda and help Malaysian technology companies succeed by providing access to financing, innovative and flexible financing solutions, specialised financing programmes, industry expertise, and advisory services,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah who is performing the duties of Vice-Chancellor expressed delight and stated that UUM is pleased to establish a strategic partnership with MDV, an organisation that possesses the knowledge and expertise to be shared together in addition to mobilising the Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) agenda.

He also stated that UUM Talks Strategic Matters can contribute to the collaboration in order to establish a close relationship with the industry, and that UUM is ready to offer its expertise that is available in the existing Schools on campus.

He stated that the programme provided a forum for the country's leading industries to share their experiences and expertise with the goal of increasing motivation and inspiring UUM denizens to help UUM become the Eminent Management University.

Later during the meeting, Mr. Nizam Mohamed Nadzri was presented with a letter of appointment, appointing him to the University-Industry Advisory Council.
