UUM ONLINE: The presentation of RM100,000 in early study aid from the Bank Rakyat Foundation is anticipated to benefit students at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan stated that the Bank Rakyat Foundation is one of UUM’s most significant contributor in terms of welfare and sponsorship.

According to him, this demonstrates a significant dedication from the Bank Rakyat Foundation, which is consistently working as an advocate for development.

"In 2022 and the previous year, the Bank Rakyat Foundation made a significant contribution to UUM, totaling more than RM200,000 aimed at assisting students from the asnaf and B40 categories.

"At UUM alone, almost 14,500 students, accounting for 70 percent of students, come from the B40 category across different academic levels. With this donation and collaboration, we will be able to help UUM students alleviate their financial burden," he said at the Presentation of Early Study Aid 2023 at the Visitors’ Lounge yesterday.

Prof. Dr Mohd Fuad expressed his gratitude towards the Bank Rakyat Foundation for their generous contribution to UUM and sincerely valued the early assistance provided.

According to him, UUM is also open to long-term collaboration opportunities with the Bank Rakyat Foundation in non-financial aspects.
