UUM Strengthens Cooperation With TETFUND, Nigeria's Higher Education Fund Provider

UUM STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH TETFUND NIGERIAS HIGHER EDUCATION FUND PROVIDER

Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Huda Ibrahim who represented the Vice-Chancellor received a courtesy call from the delegation of Tertiary Trust Fund (TETFUND), Nigeria at the Visitors’ Lounge recently.

The visit by the delegation led by TETFUND Board of Trustees, Dr. Fiepre Clever Yenogha Aprebo was aimed at monitoring the development of TETFUND-sponsored student pursuing their studies at UUM.

Prof. Dr. Huda said UUM welcomed the recognition given by TETFUND in which it acknowledged UUM as one of its preferred educational destinations for its sponsored students to pursue their postgraduate study programmes.

At the moment, TETFUND is sponsoring 103 Nigerian undergraduate and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students in UUM out of the grand total of 24,000 TETFUND-sponsored students worldwide.

Meanwhile, Dr. Fiepre Clever Yenogha Aprebo extended his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to UUM for welcoming the TETFUND delegation with open arms and he also expressed hope that the good cooperation shared with UUM would continue in the future.  He even promised that more of TETFUND sponsored students will be sent to UUM.

The establishment of TETFUND was to provide funding for educational facilities and infrastructure development, to promote creative and innovative approaches to education and educational services and to stimulate, supports and enhance activities in educational funds such as Teacher Education, Teaching Practices, Library Development and Special Education Programs and to champion literacy improvement programmes  as scientific, information and technology literate.
