UUM Leaps To The 201-250 Band In Times Higher Education Asia-Pacific University Rankings 2019

UUM LEAPS TO THE 201 250 BAND IN TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION ASIA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY RANKINGS 2019

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) strengthened its position in the Times Higher Education Asia-Pacific University Rankings 2019 when it soared to the 201-250 band this year compared to the 251+ band in the previous year.

THE Asia-Pacific University Ranking 2019 assessed teaching and research efforts of leading university in East Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania.

In total, over 300 universities from 13 different countries have been listed in the latest ranking.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani expressed his elation over UUM’s success on being listed among the top 250 universities in the Asia Pacific region.

"Competition amongst universities in the Asia-Pacific region has become increasingly intense each year and this accomplishment confirms the increase and UUM’s growing reputation in the region and around the world.

"This accomplishment is a testimony of UUM's unceasing dedication to continue to be internationally competitive in all areas of discipline and also provide opportunities and engender world-class education for our students," he said.

THE Asia-Pacific University Ranking 2019 employs the same performance indicators as THE World University Rankings 2019, however weightage factors for assessment have been adjusted to reflect the profile of some of the newer and younger universities in the region.
