UUM Explores Opportunity Of Opening A New UUM Branch Campus In The Historic City Of Melaka

UUM EXPLORES OPPORTUNITY OF OPENING A NEW UUM BRANCH CAMPUS IN THE HISTORIC CITY OF MELAKA

The courtesy visit to the office of the Malacca State Secretary was aimed at discussing the proposal of developing a new UUM branch campus in the state.

During the visit, the Secretary of the Melaka State Government, Dato' Hasim Hasan invited UUM to set up its branch campus at the Melaka Foundation building.

The new branch will focus on the aspects of tourism and hospitality management which are line with the nature or trademark of the state – Melaka Historical City.

The Vice-Chancellor also proposed the establishment of the Chef Wan Culinary School to attract students from the southern states such namely Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Johor.

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir said the plans submitted by the Melaka State Secretary will benefit UUM indirectly with the presence of its management experts.

Soon after, the Vice Chancellor visited the Melaka Foundation Building (formerly UTeM) and was briefed on the building which is located at Jalan Tun Ali.

Also present at the meeting were Director of Professional and Continuing Education Centre (PACE), Assoc. Prof Dr Halim Mad Lazim; Director of Strategic and Business Development (BSD), Assoc. Prof Dr Hijattulah Abdul Jabbar and Assoc. Prof Dr Mohamad Ainuddin Iskandar Lee Abdullah.
