The Vice-Chancellor Receives A Courtesy Visit From Deputy President Of Shibaura Institute Of Technology

THE VICE CHANCELLOR RECEIVES A COURTESY VISIT FROM DEPUTY PRESIDENT OF SHIBAURA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Deputy President of Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan, Prof. Dr. Eiji Kamioka, who is on an official working visit to four public universities in Malaysia, arrived at UUM on Sunday.

He also paid a courtesy call on UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani and his arrival was warmly welcomed at the Vice-Chancellor's Office.

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani welcomed the visit and spent time with delegates.  The Vice-Chancellor and his counterpart also shared information about each other’s institutions and countries.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Eiji Kamioka expressed his gratitude for UUM’s willingness to receive their visit and have more academic cooperation as well as various activities.

Earlier, he visited Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).

According to UUM CAS Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Huda Ibrahim, the meeting was held to foster closer ties as well as to exchange ideas on the collaboration between UUM and SIT.

"Among them include double degree, matching grant, international research through transfer of grants and final year project for undergraduate students.

"We have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SIT and various activities have been carried out since namely co-supervisor, “sandwich” programme, in fact, SIT has sent their students to SOC to undergo training," she said.
