SBM RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION FOLLOWING UUM'S SUCCESS

sbm rankingUUM ONLINE: School of Business Management (SBM) received a Certificate of Recognition following the success of UUM being listed in the 201-250 band in THE World University Rankings by Subject for the year 2022.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah who is performing the duties of Vice-Chancellor, recently presented the certificate for the Business and Economics category, which includes business and management, economics and econometrics, accounting and finance, at the School of Business Management building.

"I would like to share the joy and congratulate everyone on our success; despite the fact that our university is located far in the countryside, it is now ranked in the top 200 to 250 universities in the world.

“Our efforts, exhaustion, and adversity all culminate in joy," he added.

Ranking is a journey that necessitates the process of organising, collecting, and processing data in order to go far as a team with administrators and academics.

It is hoped that this recognition will aid in the introduction and strengthening of SBM's brand both in the country and abroad.

This recognition is also expected to help SBM attract more students to choose and pursue study programmes at SBM, as well as to improve the perception of SBM academics' academic credibility among agencies, institutions, and stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Salniza Md Salleh, Dean of SBM, who was present to accept the certificate on behalf of SBM, expressed gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah for presenting the certificate of recognition.

According to her, success is the result of the efforts of all parties, led by the university's top management.

"With the recognition and acceptance of this certificate, every denizen of this campus will definitely function and work towards achieving the vision and mission set.

“GAGAH launched by Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman at the beginning of the year, can help us ensure that the achievements we have today produce better results next year," she said.

Prof. Dr. Salniza added that what is currently being enjoyed, the success of being in a ranking position either by QS or THE, is not a short-term endeavour.

The collaboratively developed strategic plan has also entered the third phase, which allows universities and schools to plan and formulate action plans to move forward, support the university's vision, and build its own image and brand as an ivory tower that benefits all UUM residents, the local community, and provides synergy to the country's development and economic recovery.
