Review Workshop Helps Update UUM Strategic Plan

REVIEW WORKSHOP HELPS UPDATE UUM STRATEGIC PLAN

To ensure that the agenda of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) can be implemented through its Strategic Plan, the Corporate Planning Division, Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) organized the UUM Strategic Plan Phase II for 2019 Revision Workshop for three days at the Vistana Hotel recently.

The workshop which was attended by the members of the University Management Committee (JPU), Deans, Deputy Deans, Directors of Centres of Authority and the Secretariat of the UUM Strategic Plan was officiated by the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Prof. Dato' Dr. Sudin Haron. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani was also in attendance.

The purpose of the workshop is to ensure that UUM's Strategic Plan is in line with the latest agenda. Review and improvements of the Strategic Plan must be undertaken annually to ensure that each strategy, definition of operations and indicators are revised, before being tabled to the University Board of Directors.

In addition, the workshop is also aimed at ensuring that the set agenda is as the QS Ranking, QS Rating, THE, PPPM (PT) and the GreenMetric UI are always in line with UUM's strategic objectives.  And also the Performance Indicators (PIs) should always be relevant based on changes and current requirements to ensure that UUM’s achievements continue to soar year after year.

The UUM Strategic Plan works like an engine that measures UUM's performance and achievements based on predetermined key agenda in order to achieve all items on the university agenda. Therefore, strategies are put in place so that each school and centres of authority can mobilize and engender output that is in line with university’s plans.
