Reminisce The Past And Adhere To The Three Principles Of Success

REMINISCE THE PAST AND ADHERE TO THE THREE PRINCIPLES OF SUCCESS

Having served as the pioneer batch of academic staff at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) for 16 years, Dato’ Prof. Dr. Sudin Haron has once again returned to UUM as the Chairman of the University Board of Directors. As the University’s Chairman, he reminded the entire university community to adhere to three principles to achieve success in life.

He said the three principles which he adhere to, form  the basis for achieving success namely ridding  oneself of the natural disposition of human beings, eliminating the novel habits of the Malays and agreeing to follow the SSS principles.

According to him, there are nine natural traits of human beings that create obstacles to achieving success namely being weak, materialistic, forget where one comes from, ungrateful, always raising objections, stingy, despairing, always in a rush and not smart.

"In addition, we also practice these seven things in life or I call Sudin's Seven T's.

"I would like for all members of UUM staff, both the administrative and or academic level to think in accordance with SSS (Sudin's Seven Steps) principles to achieve success and happiness that is belief, willingness to change, develop goals, able to imagine success, think positive thoughts, willing to work hard and not lose hope, "he said at the ceremony that marked the 35th. Anniversary of UUM’s Foundation Day Celebration, held at Dewan Mu'adzam Shah yesterday.

With UUM celebrating its 35th year, Dato' Prof. Dr. Sudin shared his plans to further develop the University by creating an image of UUM as an eco-edutourism centre, becoming  even more well-known as UUM is currently in the Malaysian Focus University Network (MFUN) group and building networks in the region through research featuring experts from UUM.

At the same event, together with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani, he launched the UUM website and the new UUM portal as well as the Professors' Corner @PSB.
