PUBLICATION BECOMES IMPORTANT AGENDA IN CONVEYING KNOWLEDGE

L UUM PRESSUUM ONLINE: Alor Setar - "The ability to write a great manuscript is not our ability but Allah has made us as intermediaries to convey His knowledge.

"We have nothing but opportunity, so use the opportunity to benefit religion, race and country," said the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah who represented the Vice-Chancellor at the UUM Press Appreciation Ceremony at Raia Hotel.

He described the ceremony as being a very meaningful ceremony in which gratitude to Allah could be expressed as the Almighty had given one the opportunity to make investments in the hereafter.

According to him, despite being busy and having little time, Allah gave the opportunity to write and the piece of writing would be referred to countless times by many people.

In this regard, he called on academics to write with full conviction and honesty so that the piece of writing will be read by many people, let it spread all over the world and surely the rewards would be abundant.

"My heartiest congratulations to UUM Press for organizing this event in accordance with the set standard operating procedures as we are still facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though the pandemic is far from over, the contributions made by staff at UUM Press in promoting publication activities in UUM are lauded," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of UUM Press, Prof. Dr Ram Al Jaffri Saad said publication was a very important agenda for the university and the country. According to him, the effort required high level of commitment, especially among professors who would diligently read the manuscript and evaluate it professionally.

He extended his gratitude and appreciation to all professors who had been of immense help to UUM Press particularly the Editor-in-Chief, those in the University Publications Committee as well as those in the Screening Committee.

"Similarly, writers who never give up even if their manuscripts are rejected many times, yet they forge ahead and continue to send their other manuscripts even though it might take a long time. This is because the publication process is driven by various factors but if cooperation is further strengthened, then the publication process can be expedited.

“With the strength of 45 staff who are the backbone of UUM Press, I would not have been able to do all this without their support. You are all UUM super heroes! "he said.

At the ceremony, a total of 75 recipients were honoured for various categories namely the Best-Selling Book Award / Highest Royalty, UUM Press Most Published Author Award, Editor's Choice Award, Most Hopeful Journal Award, Most Published School with UUM Press Award and UUM Press Staff Award.
