PROF. TS. DR NORAZAH AWARDED THE CIVIL DEFENCE SERVICE MEDAL

PROF. NORAZAHUUM ONLINE: Due to her dedication, contribution, and unwavering commitment, the Deputy Commander of the UUM Civil Defence Student Corps (UUM Sispa Corps), Lt. Associate Colonel (PA) Prof. Ts. Dr Norazah Mohd Suki, was awarded the Civil Defence Service Medal (P.B.P).

The award has indirectly elevated the UUM brand onto the national stage.

The Professor of Marketing and E-Business at the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) recently received an award from the APM Chief Commissioner Datuk Roslan Wahab, in conjunction with Kedah Civil Defence Force (APM) Investiture Ceremony and Presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to Kedah Community College at the Sungai Petani Community College Hall, recently.

Prof. Ts. Dr Norazah expressed her gratitude and appreciation for being honoured with the medal, which represented not only her personal accomplishments but also those of the university.

According to her, the award will serve as a catalyst for her spirit to continue serving the department and university.

According to her the SISPA Corps was established through various civil defence activities aimed at fostering patriotism as well as increasing the level of discipline and building a spirit of cooperation based on the spirit of volunteerism and social service involvement.

Commenting on her experience, she was pleased when she was called to serve at the Kedah Home Surveillance Centre (HSC) with the Kedah State APM Disaster Management Secretariat at the Aminuddin Baki Institute North Branch, Jitra during the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

"For the sake of my beloved country, I accept the responsibility and trust given to me with sincerity, and I will do my best to complete the task entrusted to me."

"I went through the experience of individual quarantined management process according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by the National Security Council (NSC) and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH)," she said, who is also the Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation & Knowledge Transfer) at the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB).

The Civil Defence Service Medal is awarded to an APM member who has excelled in an operational task of at least a Level 1 Disaster (as defined in NSC Directive No. 2) or has successfully carried out Civil Defence service assistance duties abroad and has honoured country as well as the organisation.

Prof. Ts. Dr Norazah, an APM Associate Officer since 2013, was awarded the General Civil Defence Medal (P.A.P) in 2017, in addition to having SCOPUS H-Index 26 and SCOPUS citation (1841 citations from 1652 document).
