UUM ONLINE: Political Secretary to the Prime Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim shared his insights on student empowerment and enhancing the calibre of student leadership at the Madani Student Empowerment Contribution Inauguration Ceremony last Monday.

The sharing session organised by Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMap) also touched upon the strong bond between the Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the younger generation.

Mr. Muhammad Kamil also shared his past experience, highlighting the prime minister’s strong connection with the youth, noticeably in his decision to appoint a young political secretary.

According to him, this approach allows young people to have a direct role in the administrative sector.

"With this view and characteristics, the prime minister is able to cultivate a young generation capable of effective leadership,” he said.

The Vice-Chancellor of UniMAP, Prof. Dato' Ts. Dr Zaliman Sauli, emphasised the dedication of universities and higher education institutions to producing the next generation of leaders who possess a combination of knowledge, skills, academic excellence, moral integrity, and a global mindset.

According to him, this initiative will greatly impact the development of future leaders, fostering qualities that extend beyond academic excellence.

The Madani Student Empowerment Contribution Inauguration Ceremony initiative is a testament to the successful UniMap Student Leadership Camp, a transformative experience that spanned 3 days and 2 nights at the PLKN Camp, Sintok.

A total of 140 UniMap students, including the Student Representative Council (MPP), the esteemed committee of the clubs, and the highest committee of the residential colleges, participated in the leadership camp.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia, Prof. Dr Mohd. Foad Sakdan; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed and UUM SRC.

Earlier, Mr. Muhammad Kamil paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor at the Vice-Chancellor's Meeting Room.
