OYAGSB URGED TO BECOME AN INSTITUTION THAT IS CLOSE TO THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE

oyagsb rannkingUUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur – The Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) has been urged to become an institution close to the hearts of the people.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, who is performing the duties of Vice-Chancellor, said that in addition to pursuing excellence, OYAGSB and UUM as a whole must evaluate and identify ways to contribute back to the community.

According to him, the successful inclusion in the ranking was the result of the hard work and dedication of all university denizens to pursuing excellence through activities such as research and publications.

“OYAGSB must continue to work as a team so that one day the graduate school one day be the source of pride for the community and country, owing to the contribution made not only to the university but also to the community and country.

"Remember that the success of UUM is contingent not only on academics, but also on administrative and support staff. I believe that by working together, we can achieve greater success," he stated recently during the presentation of the Rankings by Subject Certificate to Deputy Dean, Prof. Ts. Dr. Norazah Mohd Suki, who represented the Dean at OYAGSB Studio.

Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman expressed hope that as the certificate handover series tour draws to a close, it will inspire all UUM residents to continue working as a team in pursuit of excellence.

OYAGSB was the final graduate school on Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman's tour of the Presentation of the Rankings by Subject certificate.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Hassan Abu Bakar, Dean of OYAGSB, stated via Webex that OYAGSB will always strive to be the best business school in Malaysia.

According to him, OYAGSB is now on track to achieve Triple Crown status after acquiring AMBA, AACSB, and EQUIS by 2025.

"I hope that the university administration will continue to provide unwavering support to OYAGSB in its pursuit of the Triple Crown.

"The success will not only raise the name of OYAGSB, but also UUM on the international stage," said the Provost of UUMKL.

Ms. Rozita Ramli, who represented the administrative staff, thanked the university for recognising the administrative staff's efforts and for its willingness to present the certificate.

According to her, the success was not the result of OYAGSB's efforts alone, but of a pseudo-party that played a role, particularly UUM's management.

She stated that without the strong support, it was certain that OYAGSB would not achieve that level of excellence.

"At the same time, we will work very hard to obtain EQUIS. In sha Allah, OYAGSB will realise UUM's aspirations, elevating the university's name to a higher level not only at the national level, but also internationally," she said.

In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2022 for Business and Economics, OYAGSB was ranked 201-250.

In addition, a certificate of recognition for UUM's inclusion in the Top 100 QS World University Rankings Asia 2022 was also presented.
