NEWLY APPOINTED VICE-CHANCELLOR CLOCKS IN FOR THE FIRST TIME

clock inUUM ONLINE: “Indeed, this trust is too great and too heavy to bear for me. When I consider this trust, I feel increasingly small in comparison to Allah SWT," Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah said on his first day as Vice-Chancellor at the Foyer of the Sultan Sallehuddin Chancellery Building on Wednesday.

According to him, the trust bestowed entails enormous responsibilities that must be met with zeal.

“I will do my best and hope for the support of all my friends so that we can collectively elevate Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to the highest possible level, thereby realising the university's aspiration to become the Eminent Management University,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman expressed hope for widespread support in order to advance UUM, and it is not impossible for UUM to be successful and great in the eyes of the world.

At the Clock-In Ceremony, he also expressed gratitude to previous university leaders for their efforts in transforming UUM into a source of pride for all, not just in the country, but also internationally.

Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah was officially appointed the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia on 25 August to succeed Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani, whose tenure ended on 25 August last year.

Along with the appointment as Vice-Chancellor, a Yassin Recital Ceremony was held at the Visitors' Lounge, with members of the University Management Committee (JPU), PERSATU, PERPATI, KESKA, and MPP in attendance. Following that, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor convened a meeting with members of the University Management Committee to discuss the university's future direction.
