Muhammad Ikhmal Basry Is Second Runner-Up Of Tan Sri Muhyiddin (TSM) Golf Challenge 2019

MUHAMMAD IKHMAL BASRY IS SECOND RUNNER UP OF TAN SRI MUHYIDDIN TSM GOLF CHALLENGE 2019

The success of becoming the second runner-up, entitled fellow UUMNGA golf athlete, Mr. Muhammad Ikhmal Basry to receive a prize in the form of a scholarship worth MYR15,000 at the Tan Sri Muhyiddin (TSM) Golf Challenge 2019 which was held at Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur recently.

Mr. Muhammad Ikhmal had a brilliant streak with a double over par (73) ahead of first-day rival, leading the way ahead of other competitors with a record of one under par 71 on the second day.

Mr. Muhammad Ikhmal's brilliant streak, however, was cut short by champion, Mr. Rhaasrikanesh Kanavathi, a representative of the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) who trailed close when he managed to hit two under par 70, reducing the gap with only three strokes.

The last day of the tournament saw Mr. Muhammad Ikhmal collecting 73 strokes compared to his rival who managed to score 70 strokes which later led the match to the playoff determination to find the absolute winner of the TSM Golf Challenge 2019. In the end Mr. Rhaasrikanesh emerged as the winner.

Director of UUMNGA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azman Yasin expressed his heartiest congratulations to Mr. Muhammad Ikhmal and Head Coach, Mr. Wan Rosni Wan Chik for striving hard from the start until the end of the competition despite being a runner-up, Mr. Muhammad Ikhmal indeed played the game well.

"I also see him as a potential player who we can feature in other major tournaments in the future," he said.
