MEETING DETERMINES THE DIRECTION OF MANAGEMENT UNIVERSITY

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani chaired the UUM Strategic Plan Achievement Presentation Meeting for the months of January to June 2019 at the Senate Meeting Room recently.

According to him, the presentation also looked into the achievements attained by Schools and Centres of Authority until 30 June 2019, hence the involvement of deans and heads of centres of authority was crucial in ensuring that every planned agenda was implemented effectively.

“In the UUM Strategic Plan 2019, much remains to be done to make UUM the Eminent Management University.

“Deans should not only pursue all the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) but the aim is, to achieve what is agreed upon in the agenda.

“With all together 171 KPIs to pursue would be an uphill task given the time, energy, or financial constraints. So we need to focus on important agendas like Branding, Internationalisation and Digitalisation.

"I hope that those who are involved will continue and intensify their commitment to realise each agenda," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of IPQ, Prof. Dr. Sany Sanuri Mohd Mokhtar said that during the meeting, the parties involved presented their achievements according to their respective thrusts.

“We have 4 thrusts but this year there is an addition to the 1C thrust of Community Engagement in line with the recommendation made by the Minister of Education besides Industry Engagement and IR4.0.

He further reiterated that the Corporate Planning Division, the Institute of Quality Management was the main secretariat for the UUM Strategic Plan.

The UUM Strategic Plan is implemented to support agendas such as MyRA, SETARA, QS Rankings, QS Ratings, THE Rankings and the UI GreenMetric Ranking.
