MAKE ICEISR 2022 THE PLATFORM FOR GLOBAL EDUCATION REFORMS

iceisrUUM ONLINE: Langkawi - Education is a vehicle for development and is an important tool for improving the standard of living for people across the world.

However, the emergence of Covid-19 in 2020 has greatly impacted the education system not only in our country, but throughout the world.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony of the 6th International Conference on Education, Islamic Studies and Social Science Research (ICEISR) 2022, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah said, the mission of all education systems is the same. It is to overcome the learning crisis we were already living and responding to the pandemic we are all facing.

Therefore, according to him, the challenge today is to reduce as much as possible the negative impact this pandemic will have on learning and schooling and to build on this experience to get back on a path of faster improvement in learning.

Haim Hilman also mentioned how technology is already playing a crucial role in providing support to teachers, students, and the learning process more broadly.

“It can help teachers to better manage the classroom and offer different challenges to different students. And technology can allow principals, parents, and students to interact seamlessly.

“In a field that is developing at dizzying speeds, innovative solutions to educational challenges are springing up everywhere. Our challenge is to make technology a driver of equity and inclusion and not a source of greater inequality of opportunity. We are working with partners worldwide to support the effective and appropriate use of educational technologies to strengthen learning.

Haim Hilman said, successful education reforms require good policy design, strong political commitment, and effective implementation capacity. Of course, this is extremely challenging.

According to him, with the transformation that is taking place especially during this endemic phase, surely the organisation of the two days international conference is apt in upholding its theme ‘Global Education Trends and Research: Challenges Faced in The World of Education’.

“I am convinced that the conference that begins today will gain many benefits, not only to the participants and the organising committee but also to the future of the country and the world,” he added.

Meanwhile, the co-Chairperson of ICEISR2022, Associate Professor Dr. Siti Noor Ismail who is  a lecturer at UUMCAS said,  ICEISR 2022 provides a platform for the participants to discuss different topics at different views based on the the areas of expertise, it offers the opportunity to discuss theories and methods and find practical resolutions that can be applied as an innovation and contribute to the development of scientific surroundings.
