UUM GRADUATES ACCA #1 TOP AFFILIATE IN THE WORLD

UUM ONLINE: Ms. Looi Pui Mun, a Bachelor of Accounting (Information Systems) graduate had once again made the name of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) on top of the world when she was recognized as ACCA #1 Top Affiliate in the world and Malaysia.

The success of the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accounting’s graduate (TISSA) was announced after she obtained the highest average score of 85.25 per cent for the overall marks for the four Strategic Professional Level examination papers she had sat for.

Prior to this achievement, she also had won the first place for Advanced Financial Management (AFM) paper in December 2021, in the world; the third in the world for Advanced Performance Management (APM) paper December 2020; seventh in the world in the Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) examination for March 2020 and third place in Malaysia for the Strategic Business Leader (SBL) paper for September 2020.

In her statement, Ms. Pui Mun expressed her happiness as she did not even expect to achieve up to that level to complete the ACCA program as well as managed to get the highest marks.

Ms. Pui Mun who is currently working as a consultant in one of the ‘Big Four’ companies expressed her appreciation to UUM, TISSA-UUM, ACCA, family and friends for their continuous support and encouragement to achieve this success.

“Now I am an ACCA Affiliate and need to have three years of working experience before becoming an ACCA member.

“I hope my success story will inspire every Malaysian’s youth to pursue their ambitions as there is nothing wrong in having a dream as long as we try to make it come true,” she said.

The accounting program students at TISSA-UUM receive maximum exemption from ACCA through the ACCA Accelerate Scheme and they only need to sit for the remaining four ACCA professional examinations.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah expressed his pride in the success of the UUM graduates who continue to bring the university’s name to the world stage.

“I hope this achievement will be an inspiration to all students to study diligently and earnestly as well as challenge themselves to sit for this ACCA examination for the future.

"This success also indirectly proves that UUM is able to produce quality accounting graduates as the accounting program that the university offers is comparable to the world's leading universities,” he said.
