FIVE UUM ALUMNI TO REPORT FOR DUTY AS POLICE INSPECTORS

alumni polisUUM ONLINE: Five Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) alumni who previously served in the Undergraduate Volunteer Police Corps (SUKSIS) have been chosen to undergo training as Police Inspectors.

Mr. Azuan Basir, Mr. Ahmad Mustafa Mahasan, Mr. Muhammad Amri Firdaus Jusoh, Ms. Nik Nur Farhanim Nik Mohamed Fauzee and Mr. Fadzrul Akmal Zulkarnain were interviewed and issued with letters to report for duty.

Mr. Muhammad Amri Firdaus, 27, a native of Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, said he and two other friends were supposed to report on 23 May but were delayed due to the COVID-19, and are not waiting for a new date, whereas both Mr. Azuan and Mr. Ahmad Mustafa have begun training.

“My friends and I are very grateful and appreciative of the offer received as it is understood that 15,000 applications were received and only 240 people were selected to attend session 1/2021.

"Although they had to go through four phases in the selection session but with the knowledge and engagement they gained from participating in SUKSIS at UUM, it became easy for them to go through all the phases," said the former Cakna President when contacted.

Mr. Muhammad Amri expressed hope that students pursuing their studies on campus would become more involved in the community through boosting community activities in particular.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nik Nur Farhanim, 25, expressed her elation because despite the fact that COVID-19 had an impact on the nation and the global economy, she still received a job offer.

According to the fifth child of the eight siblings, the call letter not only made the parents pleased, but it also astonished them because their ambition and dream to serve in the Royal Malaysia Police finally came true.

The alumna of the Bachelor of Human Resource Management Programme who represented UUM in the volleyball tournament at the Universiti Malaysia Sports Council (MASUM) and the Indonesian, Malaysian and Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Varsity Carnival will report after being given a new date together with her two other friends.

As for the alumni of the Bachelor of Business Administration, Mr. Fadzrul Akmal Zulkarnain, 27, from Muar, Johor, said the job application procedure and attending interviews became a challenge to acquire a job during the time when the world was hit by COVID-19.

"This vocation is considered as more challenging with today's technology but with the support and knowledge gained from primary school up to the ivory tower will undoubtedly give me the strength to serve the country later," he said.

May these five UUM alumni be of service to religion, race and country.
