DO YOUR BEST, REGARDLESS OF WHO YOU ARE

2UUM ONLINE: Regardless of who we are, we must do our best. Such is the principle that guides Ms. Nor Hazelin Hazman, who has been awarded the title of Pahang Student Icon 2023 for her outstanding academic achievements.

This recognition entitled, the semester six Bachelor of Entrepreneurship student from Temerloh Pahang to bring home a certificate of excellence, a plaque and RM2,000 in cash at the Eidul Fitri celebration held at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

“Undoubtedly, I am extremely grateful and delighted with this very special award presented to me since it allows me to serve as a representative of UUM at the Pahang state level.

It is noteworthy to say that I am the chosen representative from the Public Institution of Higher Education among the three student icons from Pahang.

“With this award, I hope it will inspire and encourage students of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to remain actively engaged with the Pahang state government, while also maintaining their commitment to academic excellence,” she said.

She who is also the President of the UUM Pahang Chapter Patriot Club (UUM MAMPAN) is actively involved in the provisions of Student Care Assistance to Pahang students in Raub with the Pahang Foundation and MAMPAN National as well as getting involved in corporate social responsibility programmes.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Mohd Fo’ad Sakdan, extended his congratulations to Ms. Nor Hazelin Hazman on the accomplishment of elevating the name of the university to the point where it is recognised by the Pahang state government.

"I hope that this accomplishment can serve as an inspiration to other students and demonstrate that with persistent effort, there are no limits to what can be achieved.

"May students who hail from Pahang will continue to make progress, establish collaboration with the state government, and hold appropriate high-impact activities," he said during a meeting to celebrate Ms. Nor Hazelin's accomplishments that took place at the Vice-Chancellor's Meeting Room yesterday.

Sharing in the excitement, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, described this session as highly significant for the university.

"Recently, the Pahang state government feted university students from the state at an Eidul Fitri celebration held at the World Trade Centre and the highlight of the event was the presentation of the Pahang Student Icon 2023 award.

“Out of a total of 20 institutions of higher education, we are one of the three that received recognition. In my view, the achievement of this particular student is noteworthy and impressive, particularly given that the student is also a first-class student,” he said.
