COLLABORATIVE VENTURES SET TO BENEFIT BOTH UUM AND UMSIDA

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc. Prof Dr Hendrik Lamsali received a courtesy visit from the delegates of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA), Indonesia at the Visitors’ Lounge recently.

The delegation was led by UMSIDA Rector, Dr Hidayatulloh, M.Si together with the representative of the Rector, Mr. Heri Widodo and , Mr. Wahyu Taufiq  an official from the international office at UMSIDA.

During the meeting, Dr Hendrik Lamsali and Dr Hidayatulloh discussed matters related to student mobility programmes, staff exchange programmes, joint research and organisation of ICEGE 2019-2020.

The visit by the UMSIDA delegation to UUM was in conjunction with IR4.0 Educational Talk: Holistic Education in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 which took place at the Sultanah Bahiyah Library (PSB). Discussions were also held on collaborative opportunities between UUM and UMSIDA.

The IR4.0 Educational Talk: Holistic Education in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 emphasized on the aspects of holistic education on the part of the students namely prepare students to face future challenges, the need for the curriculum to be in line with future challenges, morality is the education domain that should be the focus together with knowledge and other skills as well as restore the educational goals to what it should be that is producing human capitals that are both sound and noble in terms of cognitive, psychomotor and  affective.

Also present were the Dean of SEML, Assoc. Prof Dr Fauziah Abdul Rahim and senior members of staff at the School of Education and Modern Languages (SEML).
