CIVILISATION ON THE BASIS OF MADANI CONCEPT MUST ALIGN WITH THE AL-QURAN

1UUM ONLINE: In an effort to provide insights into the concept of Madani Malaysia (Civil Malaysia), the Malaysian Islamic Dakwah Foundation (YADIM), in collaboration with the Islamic Centre of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), organised the Madani Malaysia Discourse which was held at Sri Angsana Hall, EDC-UUM, on Tuesday.

According to the Director of the UUM Islamic Centre, Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohamad Khadafi Rofie, Allah has created and designated human as caliphs. As caliphs, humans are entrusted with the responsibility of fostering the development and prosperity of the world.

"Human beings are the representatives of Allah on Earth, despite the presence of other creatures such as jinn, animals, and plants. Allah has bestowed humans with the abilities of reason and agile spirit to advance the prosperity of the Earth.

"Therefore, Allah has provided guidance to prevent deviation, in the form of the Quran, the greatest miracle and serves as a source of guidance and moral excellence for humanity. Truly, the Quran serves as a comprehensive guide, encompassing principles of fair and impartial justice, as well as offering solutions to all the problems faced by human beings," he said during the Madani Malaysia Discourse, which was jointly organised by YADIM and UUM on Tuesday.

Madani Malaysia represents a comprehensive and holistic initiative aimed at making policies and implementations in Malaysia more humane. It strives for continuous improvement through regular consultation and feedback from the people.

Madani, which translates to ‘civilisation’, represents a synthesis of Malaysian style by combining existing practices with innovative approaches aimed at tackling new challenges and uncertainties.

The six core values of MADANI are sustainability, well-being, creativity, respect, trust, and courtesy. This programme is also in tandem with the aspirations of the Ministry of Higher Education in introducing the Semarak Siswa Madani Programme.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohamad Khadafi stated that when humans base their thinking on the Quran, it serves as a safeguard against deviating from their true purpose in life.

"The specially invited speakers offer inspiration and guidance in comprehending, internalising, and applying the teachings of the Quran. This is because the Quran is not meant to be simply read, but rather understood and put into practise by the representatives of Allah on Earth.

"This discourse addresses a crucial issue in national governance that is understanding the significant policies that will be implemented by the Prime Minister and ensuring that Islamic values are given utmost importance," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of YADIM Kedah/Perlis, Mdm. Hafsah Hashim, stated that the purpose of this discourse aims to shed light on Madani Malaysia, as the public needs to understand the Prime Minister’s efforts in implementing this concept.

She expressed her gratitude to UUM for collaborating in organising this programme and entrusted YADIM with a high level of commitment to ensuring the success of this discourse.
