BGS UUM RECEIVES BEST PRACTICE IN LEADERSHIP OUTSTANDING CHAPTER AWARD 2019

Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) received the Best Practice in Leadership Outstanding Chapter Award 2019 at the Beta Gamma Sigma Dean Appreciation Ceremony in conjunction with the AACSB International Conference and Meeting (ICAM 2019)held in Edinburgh recently.

The award was presented by the Chairman for the BGS Board of Governors, Prof Dr Charles Whiteman and CEO of BGS, Ms Christina Carosella to the Director of UUM Institute of Quality Management (IPQ), Prof Dr Sany Sanuri Mohd. Mokhtar, who represented the Vice-Chancellor.

The award is indeed an acknowledgement for BGS Chapter UUM as it is the only BGS Chapter from Asia to be listed as the recipient of the Outstanding Chapter 2019 award from a total of 600 Chapter BGS from 190 countries around the world.

The recognition is also a testament to the BGS Chapter UUM's commitment to be listed as the Highest Honor Chapter 17-18 in the hopes of ensuring that various opportunities are constantly provided to foster self-improvement and leadership among members.

Every year, BGS identifies the most excellent Chapters to be the recipient of the Gold, Silver, Bronze Categories and Best Practice. These chapters must demonstrate commitment in fostering leadership and excellence of its members through the organisation of international leadership programmes, participation in the annual BGS Global Leadership Summit and engagement with leading corporate and business leaders in BGS programmes.

The award also qualifies BGS Chapter UUM to be in the running for the Gamma Sigma Beta Scholarship worth USD500 which is awarded to outstanding and qualified BGS students.
