2067 UUM STUDENTS PROVIDED FOOD AND BEVERAGES

tabung covid 19UUM ONLINE: A total of 2067 students on the campus of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) are served free food three times a day.

According to UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani, food and drinks were distributed to all students from the ten Student Residential Halls (INASIS).

The students who received free food and drinks included 244 international students and 1823 local students. They will be provided with food and beverages for the duration of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for the UUM campus, which began on 13 June 2021 until 26 June  2021.

He stated that all students living on campus will receive lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner from the staff at their respective Student Residential Halls.

"Apart from distributing food and drinks three times a day, UUM through its Dry Goods Collection Centre coordinated by the Student Services and Support Division, the Department of Student Affairs (JHEP) will also distribute dry food to the students," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor advised students to maintain their safety and follow the SOP of wearing face masks when leaving their rooms for food or to use the restroom.

The management of INASIS and SAC will assist students who require assistance in purchasing daily necessities or raw materials.

Students who are ill and require medical attention at the UUM Health Centre should contact the Principal, Assistant Principal, and staff at their respective INASIS. Students were also reminded to complete the COVID-19 Daily Self-Assessment app before 11 a.m. every day.

"I strongly advise all students to follow the 3Ws (Wash, Wear, Warn) and avoid the 3Cs (Crowded Places, Confined Space, Closed Conversation)," he said.
