Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, who is performing the duties of Vice-Chancellor, said a total of 2,484 students had returned to campus, with 689 from the northern zone, 737 from the central/southern zone, and 1,058 from the east coast zone.

He expressed his satisfaction throughout the student admission process carried out at the Islamic Centre, which includes the COVID-19 screening test administered to all new and returning students.

According to him, students must first complete the COVID-19 screening test at home before doing the second screening test upon their arrival at UUM via car or bus.

"We have ensured that all facilities are ready and complete, in addition to ensuring the students’ well-being while on campus. Students will now continue their online learning sessions in their own rooms, which began on 10 October and will only meet lecturers in person by appointment.

"I hope that in the following semester, which begins in March 2022, we will be able to resume face-to-face teaching and learning sessions in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) established with the permission of the National Security Council and the Ministry of Higher Education," he said.

At the same time, he reminded all students returning to campus to adhere to the set SOPs, as well as practise physical distancing, wear face masks, and wash hands periodically with soap or use hand sanitizer.
