The rigorous training in the Regimental Programme Series 1- 2023 for Administrative Officers & Professional and Support Staff Officers of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) was organized by the Training Unit of the Registrar's Department in collaboration with UUM Reserve officer training Unit (ROTU) Headquarters.

"In addition to putting the team's mental and physical capabilities to the test, the training that all of us went through together improved the team's ability to work together. I believe that this is the factor that contributes to increased self-assurance, consideration, and mutual respect among us.

"Because of this programme, we are able to get to know one another. If, in the past, the only way we communicated was over the phone, then our newfound familiarity with one another should make it simpler for us to work together and advance our careers in our respective fields.

"After enduring the intense physical and mental endurance, success in completing the challenge for three days has become a much-awaited moment," said she who is a staff at TNB Residential Hall (Inasis).

For the staff at the Academic Affairs department, Mr. Mohd Azri Md Nadzri, joining the regiment provided him a new dimension in the process of cultivating a strong spirit and positive values as a guide to face the days that are to come.

"Over the course of the three days that we spent at the camp here, the participants engaged in a variety of activities that required both physical and mental toughness. During these sessions, we were put through arduous tests of our ability, perseverance, and patience, and we also worked on developing our sense of teamwork.

Prof. Dr Russayani Ismail, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), stated that the Administrative Officers and Professional and Support Staff Officers 1 are groups that play an important role in the planning, managing, implementing, and supervising of all of the University's policies and plans.

“By participating in such a programme, it is hoped that leaders and administrators will be able to demonstrate the spirit of working together, complementing each other, and helping each other in the carrying out of their respective duties and responsibilities entrusted upon them.

"In managing the governance of a small or large organisation, the ability to lead and make decisions is one of the aspects that needs to be emphasised," she said during the Closing Ceremony of the UUM Series 1/2023 Regimental Programme at PLKN Camp Sintok.

She also congratulated all participants who successfully completed the programme, thereby fostering a stronger rapport between officers.

"When we get to know each other better, it makes it easier to deal with a problem in addition to forming an identity in carrying out responsibilities by prioritising the interests of the university and the country in developing the future leaders of the nation," she said.
