MBS – UUM MOA OFFERS DOUBLE DEGREE

3UUM ONLINE: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Montpellier Business School (MBS), France at the UUM Visitors’ Lounge last Sunday.

UUM was represented by Prof. Dr Shahimi Mohtar, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) who is performing the duties of UUM Vice-Chancellor, while Montpellier Business School (MBS), France was represented by the Director, International Academic Partnerships, Mr. Xavier Rajot.

According to Prof. Dr Shahimi Mohtar, having a dual degree from a local university and an international university can further increase the marketability and value of graduates.

The implementation of this Dual Degree programme will give students added value in terms of recognition and marketability, in addition to improving the quality of undergraduate degree programmes offered by both UUM and MBS.

"The graduates produced are capable of meeting the needs of the workforce not only on the local level, but also on the global level. In general, enrolling in a dual degree programme can provide students with access to numerous opportunities for professional networking that can be of use to graduates throughout the course of their careers.

"By taking advantage of this opportunity, graduates can expand their network, learn from industry leaders, and improve their job prospects," he said at the UUM-MBS Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony.

He explained that the goal of the collaboration between UUM and MBS is to establish a structure for student exchange programmes at the undergraduate level that contribute to the promotion of all-around student development.

Mr. Xavier Rajot, Director of International Academic Partnerships at Montpellier Business School (MBS), France, described this collaboration as very important, which is symbolic, and an achievement for both parties that helps achieve common goals.

As part of this MoA, UUM offers the Bachelor of International Business Management (BIBM) programme, and MBS offers the Bachelor of International Business Administration programme (BIBA).

MBS rejoices in its partnership with UUM to share aspirations and is eager to expand its academic collaboration for the benefit of both parties.

He has a positive outlook on the capabilities that UUM has provided in the form of the numerous opportunities that attract attention and expand academic cooperation.
