UUM ONLINE: Morocco, 14 February – The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UUM and Mohammed V University sealed, among others, the accord between both universities to offer joint scholarships to students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies at either university.
The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, and the President of Mohammed V University, Prof. Saaid Amzazi. Both universities also reached an agreement on offering a Master's degree under a twinning programme.
Mohammed V University is a public university located in Rabat, with a total student population of 80,000. The university offers high-level executive training in administration and education. In fact, it has produced many prominent alumni, including their former Prime Minister, Driss Jettou.
The university is one of the best universities in Morocco and is ranked among the 801+ best universities in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2017, and among the universities within the 201-250 positions in the world in THE BRICS and Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017.
With the signing of this MoU, UUM has succeeded in forging collaborative links with two of the three best universities in Morocco. It was only a few days ago that UUM successfully inked a MoU with the University of Hassan II De Casablanca, which is ranked as the 3rd best university in Morocco.
Also present at the MoU signing ceremony was the Malaysian ambassador to Morocco, Dato’ Jamal Hassan.
