UUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) received corporate zakat (tithe) contribution totalling RM50, 000 from Affin Islamic Bank Berhad for deserving students at this university.
The Chief Executive Officer of Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, Mr. Nazlee Khalifah presented a mock cheque to UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak. The zakat handover ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of the University Board of Directors (LPU), Tan Sri Samsudin Osman at UUMKL this morning.
UUM ONLINE: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), through the School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML) remains committed to collaborate at international level, particularly in the field of research and technology with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan Advanced Institute Of Science And Technology (JAIST) at Dewan Sri Mersawa this afternoon.
UUM was represented by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, while JAIST was represented by its President, Prof. Tetsuo Asano and present to witness the historic event were the Dean of STML, Assoc. Prof Dr Shahimi Mohtar and Prof Shango Kawanishi, Head of International Relations Department, JAIST.
UUM Vice-Chancellor in his speech said that UUM is proud to be working with JAIST, an institution that seeks to produce leaders who can contribute in the creation of science and technology in the future through education and research in an academic environment that is ideal.
