Social Studies

Research programme in Social Work prepares candidates for roles in social work research and at the same time candidates are able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to conduct research in the related fields with individuals, families, groups, organisations and communities in an array of settings and with diverse populations that will allow them to contribute to the knowledge base of social work profession. Master of Social Work (MSW) offers an outstanding postgraduate course of study, preparing for a professional practice in a diverse range of social work contexts. It includes theory and practice of social work with the aims to produce social workers who are professionally competent and intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially balanced and able to apply the knowledge and skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

  1. Research Proposal (for Programme by Research):
    1. Masters - 1,000 to 1,500 words
    2. PhD - 1,500 to 2,000 words
  2. Applicants without professional qualification (Bachelor of Education/ Diploma in Education/Certificate of Education) are required to attend and pass the courses as required by the University.
  3. PhD applicants need to attend interview related to field of study being applied.

  2. For self sponsored:
    1. Master candidate: Minimum balance of USD5,000.00 in own account
    2. Doctoral candidate: Minimum balance of USD10,000.00 in own account
