Counselling

Our Research programme are an advanced research degree enabling students to conduct in-depth independent research on a topic of their choice, thereby making a significant and original contribution to knowledge in the field of psychology and counselling. We are especially keen to encourage research concerned with the interface between psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, social, cultural and multicultural and many more.Our research portfolio is highly interdisciplinary, integrating concepts, practices and scholarship from counselling and psychotherapy, psychology, sociology, philosophy, education, cultural studies, health and social care, and other social sciences. Our Master by coursework programme (Master of Science Counselling) offers an outstanding postgraduate course of study, preparing for a professional practice in a diverse range of counselling contexts. It includes theory and practice of counselling with the aims to produce counsellors who are professionally competent and intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially balanced and able to apply the knowledge and skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

  1. Research Proposal (for Programme by Research):
    1. Masters - 1,000 to 1,500 words
    2. PhD - 1,500 to 2,000 words
  2. Applicants without professional qualification (Bachelor of Education/ Diploma in Education/Certificate of Education) are required to attend and pass the courses as required by the University.
  3. PhD applicants need to attend interview related to field of study being applied.

    1. Master candidate: Minimum balance of USD5,000.00 in own account
    2. Doctoral candidate: Minimum balance of USD10,000.00 in own account
