UUM ONLINE: 4 December - The three-day MS ISO 9001: 2015 Surveillance Audit Visit by SIRIM QAS at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) began yesterday.
The auditors led by Mdm. Hanida Ghazali together with Mdm. Maznah Mat Isa attended the Opening of the MS ISO 9001: 2015 Surveillance Audit Meeting at the Senate Meeting Room, UUM yesterday morning.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Yusnidah Ibrahim said SIRIM's audit is a practice that UUM carries out annually and it has become a work culture and UUM is committed to maintaining this certification in the future.
"Many programmes have gained international accreditation such as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
"Recently two programmes offered at the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA) were awarded the EFMD Programme Accreditation System (EPAS) accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), a non-profit-based international organization based in Brussels, Belgium," she said.
This achievement made the Accounting programme offered by TISSA-UUM as the first programme in Malaysia to receive the coveted EPAS accreditation thus providing an overview of the quality of managing the programme at the School.
"The ISO and SIRIM audit practice is a venture that we started way back, have helped us in getting this accreditation and UUM has always been open to any suggestions and admonitions made by SIRIM for the purpose of improving our quality management system".
Prof. Dr. Yusnidah also expressed her hopes on getting the commitment from the parties involved in order to cooperate with the SIRIM audit team during the three-day audit exercise.
