UUM ONLINE: 8 October - 3rd Inspirational Scholar Symposium (ISS 2018) organized by the University Teaching and Learning Centre (UTLC), becomes a field for academics from diverse backgrounds to share their latest findings and best innovative practices in both teaching and learning.
Director of UTLC, Assoc. Prof. Ts Dr Mohamad Shahbani Abu Bakar said that with its apt theme 'Accelerating Potential, Shaping The Future', the third symposium provided the much needed avenue for academics to share knowledge, ideas and research findings in teaching practices, student engagement, student feedback and self-reflection about teaching and learning.
According to him, the ISS 2018 was focused on positioning the field of research in global excellence in line with the aspiration outlined in the Malaysia Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2015-2025.
"Every research carried out need to directly benefit the society as well as the nation in terms of addressing both current and global issues.
"Through this symposium, participants will be encouraged to enhance innovative practices and the use of technology in developing knowledge in all areas," he said at the ISS 2018 Opening Ceremony at EDC Hotel & Resorts, this morning.
At the event, the Director of the Academic Development Management Division, Department of Higher Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Zuhainis Saad and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Prof. Dr. Rozhan Mohammed Idrus delivered their respective keynote addresses. The symposium continued with the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) Learning Workshop in the afternoon.
