UUM ONLINE: Terengganu - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) scooped 13 medals at the 2017 International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA 2017), which ended on 9 October, 2017.
UUM succeeded in winning two (2) gold medals, four (4) silver medals and seven (7) bronze medals through the various innovative embodiments of the creative concepts of its researchers.
The three-day biennial event, which began on 7 October at the Gong Badak Indoor Stadium, attracted the participation of 40 public and private institutions of higher learning, seven Polytechnics, and two Community Colleges from throughout the country.
A total of 89 gold medals, 96 silver medals and 183 bronze medals, as well as 12 special awards, were awarded to the inventors of deserving innovative products out of the 416 entered this time around.
With the theme, Nurturing Entrepreneurs through Education, Industry, Technology and Social Innovation, PECIPTA 2017, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education with the collaboration of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), was launched by the Minister of Higher Education, Dato' Seri Idris Jusoh .
