The course provided a platform for the formation of a strong team working together to help realise UUM’s aspiration of becoming the eminent management university through the University’s Strategic Plan.
The closing ceremony of the UUM Key Office Bearer Course was officiated by UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, yesterday morning.
The Vice-Chancellor in his speech said that each elected key office bearer must possess leadership traits since everyone had a role to play in order to successfully achieve the aspirations of the university.
"This course indirectly exposes the new key office bearers to efficiently approach and perform their duties.
"In carrying out responsibilities, we have to emulate the qualities of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) namely Siddiq, trusworthy, fathonah and tabligh," he said.
He also called upon the UUM campus community including key office bearers to work as a team to ensure that the vision and mission of the university could be successfully implemented.
He also reiterated that as key office bearer, especially the young ones ought to interact and work closely with experienced key office bearers in order to launch the development plan scheduled by the University.
The UUM Key Office Bearer Course is aimed at building a dynamic team amongst the key office personnel who are characterised as being dynamic, ever ready to take on changes and challenges, patriotic, competent and capable of adapting to new demands in the public service.
Throughout the three-day course, all the key office bearers attended training sessions in groups and lectures delivered by speakers from the National Security Council and former UiTM Vice-Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dato' Sri Ir Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar, as well as a joint session with UUM Vice-Chancellor.
