The exemption was agreed upon by LPQB after examining a report on the measures and actions taken by UUM to comply with the conditions set LPQB through a letter dated 1 December 2015. The findings were later presented at the meeting on 19 February 2016.
With this exemption, the requirement for law students to undergo the three training courses for the LLB programme namely Training Programme on Conveyancing Practice, Drafting Pleadings and Opinion Writing organised by the Bar Council in order for them to obtain the Certificate of Completion of training is no longer applicable.
UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak expressed his gratitude and elation with the decision after UUM successfully undertook all necessary measures to meet the requirements of this recognition which was pursed by UUM since 2011.
He also reiterated that the School of Law (SoL) must constantly improve the quality of its graduates in order to make UUM law programme the best in Malaysia.
