The expedition leader, Amirudin Hashim said, the expedition promises spectacular and memorable experiences to all participants. The location was chosen because he wanted to challenge the participants and provide fantastic opportunity to gain new experiences.
"The participants also enjoy the pristine scenery of beautiful beach and islands, and also learn about the lives of the locals, who are mostly fishermen and farmers. Most of them are Malay and Muslims.
MTB Club representative, Mohd Badrillah Shaari said, the expedition to Tanyong Po @ Tanjung Pauh, Satun is much more meaningful because besides the bicycle tour, MTB Club UUM also contributed some goodies to the local Muslim community.
More interestingly, the local Muslim communityconverse in the Malay language and this allows them to interact and socialise with each other.
Meanwhile, a participant, Mohd Syukri Yaacob said, this was the first time he joined the cycling expedition and the experience was certainly memorable.
"Other cyclists in the expedition as well as the motorcycle escort offered their assistance throughout the expedition. The warm weather and fairly strong wind almost made me give up on the expedition altogether, but my teammates encouraged and escorted me till the end of the expedition,” he said.
