The Vice-Chancellor first visited SIT where he was welcomed by the Deputy President of the Department of Communication Engineering, College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eiji Kamioka.
The Vice-Chancellor said that schools such as the School of Computing (SOC), School of Multimedia Technology and Communication (SMMTC) and School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML) in UUM will play important role in enhancing cooperation in the field of information technology at both universities.
According to him, with the collaboration it is hoped that there would be long term continuity and the programmes arranged with UUM will progress dynamically hence increasing the strategic partnership relations between the two sides.
The UUM-SIT collaboration takes shape in the form of mobility programmes, student placements, research opportunities utilizing the expertise and facilities offered by the SIT.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Eiji Kamioka said that SIT which is listed in the Global Top University in Japan is prepared to explore mutual opportunities in various fields with UUM.
He added that bilateral cooperation will also be aimed at collaboration in Hybrid Twinning programme.
In a visit to the University of Tsukuba, UUM signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) , thus expressing the desire to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is expected to be implemented in September.
At the meeting, both UUM and University of Tsukuba focussed discussions on increasing the opportunity of student mobility programme between the two universities in the Trans-ASEAN Global Agenda Education Programme for AIMS Programme (TAG-AIMS Programme) and many other programmes which had been planned by UUM through the Office of the COB Student Development and Alumni.
UUM strongly believes that international cooperation with University of Tsukuba will be benefitted collectively especially in mobility programmes, student placements and research development towards a more effective academic collaboration on a larger scale in the future.

Prof. Dr. Hartini Ahmad; Dean at the COB Students and Alumni Development Office (PPA) COB, Dr. Mohamad Farizal Rajemi; Deputy Dean at the COLGIS Students and Alumni Development Office (PPA) COLGIS; Dr. Nurhaizal Azam Arif and CUIC officers.
