The MoU was signed by UUM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail representing UUM Vice-Chancellor and UNISBA Rector Prof. Dr. M Thaufiq Siddiq Boesoirie as well as UMK Rector Dr. H. Suparnyo. Present to witness the signing of the MoU were Director of UUM Northern Corridor Research Centre (NCRC) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rohana Yusof and Dean of College of Arts and Sciences (UUM CAS) Student Development and Alumni Dr. Massudi Mahmuddin,
Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi in his speech said UUM would continue to proactively searching for new strategic partnership to gain maximum success through the MoU signing with various organisations locally and abroad including Japan, Korea, Indonesia and the United States of Amerika.
"Up until today there are more than 80 existing MoU between UUM and Indonesian universities and agencies including the two newly added universities today. All the agreements are concluded as a platform to realise various academic joint programmes between the organisations involved.
"I fervently hope that this platform will be fully utilised to enhance collaborative efforts in various fields, particularly student and staff outbound and inbound mobility programmes," he said.
He further elucidated that the signing of the MoU with the two universities would not only focus on developing and implementing a programme of staff and student mobility, but also highlighting programmes of collaboration in research and consultation, publication as well as workshop and seminar at international level .
Meanwhile, both UMK and UNISBA Rectors expressed their hope that the signing of the MoU would further strengthen the long-standing symbiotic relationship between the two countries.
Also present at the event were Members of the University Management Committee, Deans, UUM officials and UNISBA as well as UMK delegates.
