The session was chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Prof. Dr. Hassan Ali, who represented the UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Wira Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, and accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Malek Abdul Karim.
A total of four (4) schools housed under the UUM COLGIS including the School of International Studies (SoIS), the School of Government (SoG), the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Environmental Management (STHEM) and the School of Law (SoL) made their presentations alongside the CoE including the Northern Corridor Research Centre (NCRC), the Institute of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad's Thoughts (IPDM), the Institute for Management and Business Research (IMBRe), the Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI), the Centre for University-Industry Collaboration (CUIC), and the ITU-UUM ASP CoE for Rural ICT Development (ITU-UUM) as well as the UUM Kuala Lumpur Campus.
According to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), he said that the sessions done aimed to achieve a comprehensive evaluation reports before the final meeting of the Phase 2 of the Strategic Plan (2016-2020), which will held in the third quarter of this year.
He further explained that UUM Vice-Chancellor recommended to all Deans of UUM COLGIS to provide adequate information and clear presentations on related issues including recent situations and directions of their respective Schools as well as the requirements to achieve their goals and ways the university could assist in achieving their objectives.
"In addition, the roles of CoE are undeniably imperative in outlining strategies in Phase 2 of the university Strategic Plan. It is therefore, all the CoE are expected to present their directions and goals in helping the institution to achieve its future objectives.
"With the final presentations from all the Schools and CoE involved today as well as the Phase 2 of the Strategic Plan Laboratories (Lab) which was held in March 2015, marked the route for the university to establish adequate preparations for the Phase 2 of the Strategic Plan which is expected to be implemented in September 2015," he said.
He added that the Phase 2 of the Strategic Plan should be constructed in accordance with the Malaysia Education Blueprint for Higher Education (2015-2025).
He further said that the UUM denizen should be mobilised to assist the institution to achieve its aspirations outlined in the Phase 1 of the Strategic Plan before entering the Phase 2 of the university Strategic Plan.
The schools and centres of excellence which came under the College of Business (UUM COB) and the College of Arts and Science (UUM CAS) took part in a similar session in March and April this year.
